Boston, MA based YoFreeSamples.com announced a major site upgrade for the popular free sample/ coupon site. Besides technical upgrades to boost the site’s performance, YoFreeSamples streamlined the navigation so users can quickly find what they want as well. YoFreeSamples.com also partnered with numerous lifestyle video providers to further engage their primarily female audience.
John Clark, the site owner, said a beta test of its Shopping Spree game revealed that visitors enjoyed playing the game and earning points for a monthly prize. “Expect more opportunities to interact and be entertained,” Clark said.
Based on the popularity of the “play for rewards” feature on YoFreeSamples, Clark is developing a new site, indivly.com, where users can play games, view videos and photos to earn points towards rewards.
Content will be collected from various sources including brands that want to promote their products. “But it’s not one of those sites where you’re watching a bunch of commercials,” Clark said. “Brands understand that they need to provide something useful to consumers – educate and entertain at the same time.”
Clark sees the site as a portal for useful content. Users will be able to store, share and comment on what they view or read essentially creating a virtual storage box of favorites. New content will be recommended on what users save or share. For brands, it’s an opportunity to showcase products and engage consumers.
The difference for indivly users is that as they play, read and view what they love, they earn points. “Indivly’s tag line – be yourself, get rewarded - comes from that concept,” Clark noted. The points, called divlys, will be redeemable for product samples, discounts and eventually products provided by brands.
Indivly is getting ready to release a beta test of the site. This first phase will involve testing site functionality and making sure content is easy to view and the point system works. “We have demand from several content providers and the more feedback we get from users, the more content and rewards we’ll be able to offer.
