Health chiefs will this week set up a market stall and hand out free condoms to youngsters.
Staff from Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Primary Care Trust (PCT) are to team up with the council's teenage pregnancy service and the borough's Brook Advisory Centre to promote safe sex.
Tests for chlamydia and gonorrhoea will also be carried out as part of the trust's programme to screen people between 16 and 25.
Glen Berry, director of health development at Wigan PCT, said: "At this time of year
there are a lot of parties that young people go to, they get drunk and end up doing things they later regret.
"At the same event last Christmas we had between 30 and 40 young people turn up to be tested. In the following weeks there was a surge of people who visited clinics to be tested.
"This year we have been able to build on that in an effort to further reduce the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and treat those who may have an STD."
