Free Local Phone Chat Line

July 31, 2009 |12:17 | Free Chat Services  By : Team X

Talk121 www.talk121.com, albeit new to the scene of live chat services is definitely growing steadily. At present, its live chat services are more favoring the national scale; however, soon enough local callers will become more available.

As they are dedicated with improving their connections, they just have undergone a recent system update that improved their infrastructure to better provide options for their patrons, compared to their competitors. At a time, it is said that there are about 100 of callers on the system, calling from the different cities to the various states. Callers, who are over 18 years of age can call for free (especially the ladies), chat live or even leave personal voice messages for others to hear when they are unavailable.

These lines are most often referred to as phone chat lines, live chat lines, free teen chat lines and simply put, chat lines. This works when a caller calls the chat line to record a personalized greeting for other callers to hear. They, on the other hand will also listen to the messages of the other callers that are live on the system. That will give them the opportunity to either leave them a message for that specific person or even request to contact them in real time.

Free software: How it drives AVG's business

July 30, 2009 |16:26 | Software Freebies   By : Team X

Free software: How it drives AVG's businessChris Anderson's new book, Free, explores the direction part of our economy is taking -- a direction in which the infinitely copyable, ie digital content, gravitates towards costing nothing, with revenue generated via other means. To Anderson, "$0.00 is the future of business."

And, it transpires, he is by no means alone. AVG's CEO, JR Smith, openly admitted in a recent interview with CNET UK that, "Free is what drives our business. Without it, we'd be nowhere today."

AVG offers three main anti-virus and anti-malware products. Two will cost you a few tenners each year, but the other offers to protect your computer from viruses and infections, in real-time, and AVG just gives it away to tens of millions of people worldwide.

"It's probably the single biggest driving factor," Smith explained. "And in Europe, [free] is highly disruptive to the big guys. They definitely don't like the fact that we're out there giving a product away for free."

When many people think of free online games they think of slots, but that is not always the case. At Online Vegas, there is also a wide variety of free games for card players and people who enjoy table games.

Online Vegas is one of the casino that runs on Vegas Technologies software. The software provider is sure to include a full array of free online games with their product. For casinos, table games can be just as important as the slots.

Microsoft Offers Free Tool To Troubleshoot Office Bugs

whether an Office file contains malicious content.  Microsoft also provided updates on the three security collaboration programs it first announced last year at Black Hat, the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP), the Microsoft Exploitability Index, and the Microsoft Vulnerability Research (MSVR) program, as well as Project Quant, which represents an effort to create metrics and quantify the cost and efficiency of an organization's security patching process.

The announcements, which Microsoft made at Black Hat USA in Las Vegas today, came amid the backdrop of two out-of-band patches the software giant said it will issue tomorrow -- one for a recently revealed bug in Visual Studio, and another for Internet Explorer. "While this release is to address a single, overall issue, in order to provide the broadest protections possible to customers, we'll be releasing two separate security bulletins," said Mike Reavey, director of the Microsoft Security Response Center in a blog post today.

Where can I find some free games online?

July 28, 2009 |10:54 | Free Games  By : Team X

I've never been one to pick a fight with Friedrich Nietzsche, so I'm willing to concede that free will may be an illusion. On the other hand, I am completely unwilling to give ground on the fact that free video games are 100% real, and I further aver that it's our duty as gamers and as human beings to take advantage of those free games whenever we can. Now, almost everybody knows that you can go to sites like addictinggames or Yahoo! and play online versions of Asteroids or Euchre. Ho-hum. The good news is, sites like that are neither the be-all nor the end-all of free gaming. Other, lesser known avenues to no-cost fun are scattered all over the internet, and only require a little exploration to track down. As a public service, here in no particular order are five of my personal favorites.

1. The Kingdom of Loathing
Anyone who likes games with challenging puzzles and a satirical edge will love The Kingdom of Loathing, a turn-based MMORPG which makes up for its lack of graphical sophistication (most of the game world is drawn in a crude stick-figure style, and there's almost no animation) with clever writing and a bizarre, complex world that takes months to fully explore. It's also the only game I know of where a player can get hopelessly addicted to goofballs and then ascend to a higher plane of existence in the span of 15 minutes. That should tell you all you need to know.

Free Software Foundation Waves Developers Off Mono & C#

July 27, 2009 |10:33 | Software Freebies   By : Team X

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) doesn’t like Microsoft, doesn’t like software patents, it especially doesn’t like Microsoft’s patents, and it doesn’t trust the two of them in the same room together.

It’s convinced that Microsoft is eventually going to sue any open source developer who uses Mono, the Novell-supported open source version of Microsoft’s .NET widgetry, or who writes open source programs in C#, the Microsoft development language.

It’s warning off developers now because Microsoft has added both C# and Mono – or rather the ECMA 334 and 335 standards that embrace them – to its two-year-old irrevocable, legally binding Community Promise not to sue.

Britons to miss out on billions of 'free money'

July 25, 2009 |11:15 | Free Money   By : Team X

UK consumers are poised to miss out on free money totalling billions as the 31 July deadline to claim available tax credits approaches.

In total, funds worth up to £4.2 billion could go unclaimed, as millions are failing to take advantage of their pension and child tax credits, according to research conducted by Unbiased.co.uk.

“People are missing out on record quantities of money by failing to claim tax credits to which they are entitled,” said David Elms, chief executive of the website.

Kernel Log - progress with free graphics drivers, three new stable kernels

July 24, 2009 |13:18 | Free Graphics  By : Team X

Kernel Log - progress with free graphics drivers, three new stable kernelsNot much has been heard in recent months about the open-source graphics driver for NVIDIA GPUs, properly known as "xf86-video-nv" but usually shortened to just "nv". Recently, however, NVIDIA man Aaron Plattner released version 2.1.14.

Although innovations are few, some of the changes mean that the driver now handles a great many later graphic chips that were previously only supported by the Nouveau driver or the proprietary NVIDIA driver. These include various GeForce 7950 cards, the GeForce models 285 and 295, and many other graphics cards in the 9000 series.

A week ago, in his blog AMD's John Bridgman announced some progress with work on the open source driver code to give 3D support to the R6xx and R7xx GPU series used with Radeon graphics hardware in the 2000, 3000 and 4000 series.
